Biography
Dan Hollinrake is a singer/songwriter with a wealth of experience. After years of honing his craft as both a lead and backing vocalist in bands such as Dead Pixels and Jarvis Brothers, Dan decided to embark on a career as a soloist in 2019. Dan has gained hundreds of gigs worth of experience on the pub and club circuit and has even appeared at reputable festivals such as OsFest 2014, staring on the same bill as household names such as Nina Nesbitt, Toyah Willcox, Paloma Faith and Connor Maynard.
Dan appeared on ITV’s ‘Sing it to Win it’ competition with his band ‘Jarvis Brothers’ in 2018. The group placed in the top three and were backed by a judging panel including Kate Garraway and Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh.
Dan has a keen interest in song writing, releasing debut single ‘My Darling’ in 2019. The song addresses living with Alzheimer's and was inspired by the marriage of his Grandparents. The song received support from The Alzheimer's Society, and was shared onto their Facebook page achieving hundreds of likes, comments and shares from their followers and supporters.
Following the success of ‘My Darling’, Dan released his debut EP titled ‘Rewind’ in August 2019.
The EP was met with positive reviews, with critics enjoying ‘Perfect World’ in particular. The A&R Factory stated in 2019; ‘Through a combination of melodiously magnetic acoustic guitar, striking vocals, and candidly narrative vocals, singer-songwriter Dan Hollinrake has created an unforgettable single with “Perfect World”.
Dan continues to record new music, with a follow up EP expected in 2020.
Aside from performing, Dan is interested in teaching and lecturing. Dan has been a vocal tutor at various educational institutions, and completed his undergraduate degree in Popular Music Performance at the University of Chester in 2020, earning a first class degree and the valedictory prize for outstanding contribution to popular music during his three years of study.
Dan also earned his masters degree from BIMM London in 2021, focusing on songwriting and composition.
Dan recently announced a brand new EP project, which combines musical theatre and pop music. This new project combines his academic research and his songwriting skills, both of which he holds a strong passion for.
